Inside the product
From discovery to detail — and everything in between.
Sheffield Scene is a full product, not a single landing page. These screens show the core journeys: finding what's on, filtering by venue or category, diving into an event, reading editorial guides, and partnering with the platform.
Discovery
The homepage and browse experience are built around how people actually plan — tonight, this weekend, by category, venue, or date range.

Homepage with tonight and weekend entry points, search, and category filters.

Browse at scale
A dense event grid handles hundreds of listings without feeling cluttered — with venue tags, save actions, and a clear path for organisers to list missing events.

Event grid with venue labels, dates, and a community listing call-to-action.

Venue pages group everything on at a single location — here, Foundry on Western Bank.
Event detail
Individual event pages go beyond a description — tickets, sharing, nearby recommendations, transport links, calendar export, and countdown built in.

Desktop event detail with tickets, nearby venues, tram stops, directions, and calendar tools.

Mobile event detail with show information and post-show nearby recommendations.
Editorial
Monthly guides sit alongside the listings — editorial content that helps people discover what's worth seeing, not just what's on.

Partners & growth
A partner page gives venues, promoters, and local brands a clear route to work with the platform — from newsletter features to post-show discovery placements.

The challenge
Sheffield's arts and nightlife scene was spread across venue websites, social posts, and ticket platforms. There was no single place to answer the most common local question: what's on tonight?
The approach
Rather than building a generic events calendar, the product was structured around how people actually plan — tonight, this weekend, by venue, and by category — with editorial guides layered on top for discovery.

“The site was built to properly showcase the event scene within Sheffield — and it does exactly that. With over 800 events listed and growing, it has become the place people go to see what's on. Darren was easy to work with, always available, and genuinely understood what the platform needed to be.”
